Product Description Dietary supplement. Isoflavone-Rich. Non-GMO Soy. (Not genetically modified). Genistein, an Isoflavone phytonutrient derived from soybeans, has been the focus of scientific research since 1966. Studies have shown that Genistein can bind to the same receptor sites as estrogen. Soybeans are the only significant dietary source of Genistein; however, the amount of soy foods necessary to meet the body's needs can be difficult to incorporate into today's diet. In Asia, where soy is a staple, the daily intake can be up to 20 times that of a Western diet. Source Naturals Genistein Soy Complex is made from Isoflavone-rich soybean powder that yields a consistent standardized Isoflavone content. This unique chemical-free process requires approximately 400 pounds of soybeans to yield just one pound of finished product. Genistein for treatment of diabetic retinopathy June 5, 2010 Dr. N. Ashman (St. George, Utah USA) Started using this product two weeks ago on the advice of my opthalmologist. Too early to judge results. Physician was very positive in recommending it. Based on research completed over several years with supported results through replication.
deceptive labeling August 7, 2009 Bradley K (Los Angeles) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
These tablets contain 31 mg Isoflavones each, not 1000 mg each. A glass of soy milk contains more isoflavones than two of these "1000 mg" tablets. Judging by the size of these tablets (huge), the stated content undoubtedly includes the filler, not the active ingredient which is a miniscule portion of these tablets. These would never pass FDA labeling requirements.

Genistein Soy May 23, 2009 Bruce (Maryland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product has a very good unit price per dose. Taking one tablet in the morning and one in the evening helps to keep the soy in your system. The only negative is that each of the tablets are larger than any other soy tablet that I have seen and you have to take two of these large tablets to equal one smaller tables of the other brands.
not much of a review January 30, 2009 My Pen Name (San Diego) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I cannot review or rate this product as I am unable to tell if it is effective or not. I take this at the suggestion of a physician whose opinion I respect, but he doesn't really know if it is effective or not, either.
